Specifications:


Fire Safe Insulation Foam, The fire performance of phenolic foam {Insulation Foam} is exceptional. It combines zero or very low flame spread with negligible smoke emission and a very low level of toxic gas emission. In addition, phenolic foam used in factory engineered composite panels can achieve up to 2 hours fire resistance rating (insulation/integrity) in the 3m furnace test

  • Phenolic foam evolves exceptionally low smoke when exposed to fire and is capable of meeting or exceeding all international building regulation requirements
  • Toxic gas emission from phenolic foam is generally limited to carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide with very low levels of other gases

Phenolic Foam (PF) is closed cell rigid plastic foam comprising phenolic resins & other additives. Fire Safe Insulation Foam has been recognized as the best insulation material for its excellent fire resistance and high oxygen index properties amongst all the insulation material due to its very small flame size, thus prevents spreading of fire and has very low smoke emissivity. It has high temperature resistance up to 200 C, superior strength and structural stability, and is very high in thermal and sound insulating properties. It has the lowest value in water absorption properties. It is free from HCFC and CFC compound. It is therefore known as a third generation insulation material. It can be used for all insulation application, under deck insulation, HVAC air ducts, insulating the building walls, in body of refrigerated vehicles or as a component in prefab composite wall

  • Available in thickness up to 1000 mm and breadth up to 1200 mm with unlimited length and laminated on one side or both side with Aluminium foils/sheet metal/GI checkered plain sheets/r Kraft paper/non-woven fabric

 

Insulation Foam Properties:


  • Phenolic foam has very low embodied energy per unit thermal performance compared to other insulation materials
  • Significant CO2 savings can be achieved compared to other insulation materials
  • Phenolic foam can make a significant contribution to help achieve CO2 emission reduction targets required by the Kyoto Protocol
  • Phenolic foam is available in both CFC and HCFC free forms

 

The reasons for this excellent performance are:


  • Phenolic foam has a low water vapour permeance and is therefore highly resistant to the passage of water vapour
  • Phenolic foam has low water absorption which takes place predominantly in the cut/broken surface cells of the foam
  • Phenolic foam is non-wicking.This means that if water enters the insulation system due to the vapour barrier becoming punctured, any moisture ingress is limited and confined to the punctured area. This ensures moisture does not build up and compromise the whole system
  • Phenolic foams have an excellent strength/density relationship being lightweight but strong. Higher density phenolic foams are typically used for: Pipe supports, Duct supports, Steel faced composite panels including walk on ceilings, Structural phenolic foam is typically made in 80kg/m3,120kg/m3 and 160kg/m3 densities

Phenol formaldehyde foam resin:

Phenol Formaldehyde Foam resin are made without the use of acidic catalyst or formaldehyde based hardeners. These foams will not generate formaldehyde emissions. There is a metal corrosion due to acidic catalysts, which is one of the main drawbacks to current phenolic foams where as in our Phenol Formaldehyde foam resin will not give any metal corrosion.

The foams can be used in a variety of applications such as insulating materials for hot or cold pipes, freezers and cold rooms. HVAC equipment, chemical tanks, army tanks, defence, aircraft, trains, marine applications, roof, and buildings and mobile homes.
